During her more than 15-year career, Karen has successfully let investment, asset and portfolio management roles across the organization in a variety of markets around the world. Most recently, she served as head of DTZ Canada based in Toronto, with overall responsibility for DTZ $4.2 billion AUM pan-Canadian private equity real estate investment management business.
Karen joined DTZ Seatle office in 2006 in Acquisitions and moved to Chicago in 2011 to take on Asset and Portfolio Management responsibilities. From 2011 to 2015, she relocated to the Houston offices where she held the role of Portfolio Manager, for DTZ Opportunity Funds, and played a critical role in the re-structuring and stabilization of the region’s business following the expansion and merger. In early 2015, she has led DTZ’s Americas Tourism group, which has over $2bn AUM and includes some of the firm’s largest and longest-standing institutional investor clients.
She joined Eden Managers in 2016 joined Eden Mangers and heads the Eden’s multi-sector loan servicing capabilities which allow the strategy to adopt the same relative value approach as our ABS strategy: opportunistically targeting loan sectors in which complexity and lack of buyers enables low acquisition prices with strong resolution potential. The Loan Opportunity Strategy is actively managed and seeks to drive returns through capital gains from loan liquidations and sustainable cash flows. Karen is launching Eden’s new CDO strategy offering in the coming quarter.

Don Russell was born in New York City in YEAR. His ancestors were among the first settlers to land at Plymouth Rock, when they arrived in 1621 on the ship that followed the Mayflower. For generations his family has left its mark on American politics and society. His grandfather was the District Attorney for Brooklyn, New York, his grandmother was the field secretary of the League of Nations, and his cousin was the US ambassador to Tunisia and Ghana.
Don studied economics at Colgate University and began his career as a commercial lender for National Westminster Bank. In 1976 he founded Westminster’s media lending group, which quickly became one of the largest media lenders to the cable TV sector, and the bank’s most profitable group at the time. Don soon gained notoriety in the rising media lending industry and in 1978 he was recruited by Communications Equity Associates (CEA), an investment bank specializing in media. Don managed CEA’s cable TV and broadcast division, and was President of its New York Subsidiary. Over the next three decades Don orchestrated approximately $7 billion in transactions, which included debt financing for the construction of cable TV systems, and the sale of cable TV systems throughout the US.
In 1996 Don founded CEA’s first private equity fund in the US. He raised over $150 million and was chairman of the fund’s investment committee. In 2000 he became a member of the investment committee of Seaport Capital Partners II, LP, a $262 million equity fund.
Don founded River City Broadcasting in 1989, a major TV and radio operator in medium-sized markets across the US, based in St. Louis Missouri. Within five years River City amassed more than thirty radio and TV stations in a total of fifteen medium-sized markets. The firm was purchased in 1996 for $1.4 billion.
In 2008 Don was named president and CEO of South American broadband communication services provider Old UGC Inc. He managed in excess of 400 employees.
Don is currently Chairman and CEO of Ectero Southwest LLC, a company providing water to oil and gas companies and municipalities. Don is also the manager of BOF Earthwater, the holding company that owns Ectero. He was previously the lead director of Aerosonic Corporation, a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment. In total, Don has served on the board of directors of more than 30 different for-profit and nonprofit entities, ranging from the healthcare sector to the pet industry.
For the last 20 years Don has been a member of the Society of Business Fellows, an organization of top executives, entrepreneurs and professionals. He is the former VP of the International Radio and Television Society Foundation, a charitable organization connecting professionals from all sectors of the media industry. He was recently elected to the board of the Beverly Searles Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing housing to the elderly, disabled and other low income groups.
Don resides in Clearwater, Florida with his wife, Elizabeth. He is an avid golfer, and enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren.
Mark is CEO of Meyerdirk Consulting Group, Inc., and brings with him 42 years of experience as internal counsel and investor in the finance sector. He founded and operated a 14 office 120 employee title insurance agency that he sold in 1989, operated a 4,000 agent RE/MAX residential real estate sub-franchise business, and founded Collaborative Capital LLC, a Midwestern investment group of 50, family offices and high net worth investors investing in Series A and Series B entrepreneurial strategies that has invested more than $20,000,000 in over 10 early-stage (Series A and B) venture investments. Over the last decade Mark has acted as advisor, attorney and investor in more than 30 private placements in the Midwest and West Coast U.S.
David has been active in numerous management roles advising financial institutions and asset managers on the architecture of complex financial structures for nearly 25 years with portfolios. David is the founder of Eden Investment Managers, a private investment company, and a Structured Group. David evaluates transactions in the ABS, MBS, IOs, MSRs and derivates markets and has been involved in roles of progressive responsibility for several financial architecture projects aiming at optimizing structured- products trading.
As a founder of Green Light Capital (GLC) Fund and in partnership with Eden Investment Managers, Vince, GLC and Eden Investment Managers have developed a Debt Portfolio of approximalety $20 million of private debt/mezzanine transactions with growth companies across the Midwestern Uniyed States. Vince has worked in the financial services market, primarily in banking with PNCEF, PNC Equipment Finance and National Commercial Capital, private equity, credit markets and capital Leasing, and has been focused on advising and lending within private debt financing strategies across a diverse portfolio base.
